Mumbai Indians will be delighted that they now have the claim of having the choice of captains for both the men’s and women’s national teams as Kaur has joined the Mumbai squad while top batsman Rohit Sharma continues to lead the IPL franchise.

Mumbai Indians enlisted the services of Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur for Rs 1.8 crore in the inaugural WPL auction.

MI will be happy with the fact that they now boast the likes of captains from both the men’s and women’s national sides in their ranks as Kaur joins the Mumbai side while ace batsman Rohit Sharma leads the IPL franchise.

And many online drew comparisons raised on cue as Paltan was thrilled with his team’s choice at the auction.

Kaur’s international teammate Smriti Mandhana was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3.4 crore after the Bengaluru team bid for MI to start the auction on the 26-year-old.

Australian player Ashley Gardner was also bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 3.2 crore.
