K-pop powerhouse ‘Blackpink’ is making a comeback with their new album in August this year. Confirming in an announcement, YG Entertainment stated that the album “starts an ongoing large-scale project that will extend through the second half of the year.” Following the release of their album, BLACKPINK will begin their most extensive world tour by the end of the year.

The statement from YG Entertainment read, “We’ve created a lot of BLACKPINK-esque music that has been produced with a lot of effort over a long period of time. By the end of it, with their return, BLACKPINK is one of the biggest ever. Will begin a world tour. K-Pop girl group, to expand their communications and reach out to fans around the world. We will continue to do large-scale projects for the group as well.”
Earlier in 2020, BLACKPINK’s first full-length release, ‘The Album’ peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Blackpink added a pair of hits with the single ‘How You Like That’ and their collaboration with Selena Gomez, ‘Ice Cream’. Speaking to Variety, members of the group, who like to quote collectively, say they are thrilled about the album’s debut. “Releasing our first full-length album to the world was our proudest moment of the year. We were so happy and excited to release our album after a long time of thinking and working on it!”, The group added.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is a four-member girl group that made its debut in 2016. Members include Rose, Jenny, Lisa and Jisoo.
