Meanwhile, the BJP on Tuesday attacked the Trinamool Congress for not taking action against its MP Mahua Moitra and asked whether the party would suspend her. The BJP also claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s silence on Moitra’s remarks has angered Hindu Bengalis inside and outside the state.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi invoked Goddess Kali during his speech on the birth centenary celebrations of Swami Atmasthananda on Sunday. Referring to the Prime Minister’s speech, Malviya had tweeted, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls Maa Kali the center of devotion not only for Bengal but for the whole of India. On the other hand, a TMC MP insults Maa Kali and Mamta Banerjee. Rather than acting against him, Maa defends his obnoxious portrayal of Kali.”
