More than 320 tonnes of debris has been removed and nine people have been rescued from the rubble, the regional emergency services directorate wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

The death toll under a collapsed apartment block in the Donetsk region town of Chasiv Yar rose to 35 on Tuesday, emergency services said, while the building had not survived more than four days from Russian rocket fire.

More than 320 tonnes of debris have been removed and nine people have been rescued from under the ruins, the regional emergency services directorate wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Chief of Staff Andrey Yermak said on Sunday that the attack was “another terrorist attack” and that Russia should be designated as a state sponsor of terrorism as a result.

Russia, which denies intentionally targeting civilians, said on Monday it had “destroyed a temporary deployment point” of a Ukrainian regional defense unit in Chasiv Yar.
