Aurangabad: Aurangabad district, which was ranked second in the field of education in the recent ranking of aspirational districts by NITI Aayog, has decided to use the prize money of Rs 3 crore received for the development of smart classrooms, libraries and other facilities in 175 have taken. Aurangabad DM Saurabh Jorwal said that the district has greatly improved its ranking in the field of education and is now at the second position. The DM said, “The cash reward will be used for improving education facilities in the district. The district administration has prepared a detailed action plan and sent it to NITI Aayog for approval.
He said, “A total of 175 schools located in 350 villages of 132 panchayats and two city councils of 11 blocks of the district have been selected for infrastructure development. A total of 49,525 students will be benefitted. As per this action plan, Smart Classroom Inn. Computers and other electronic materials will be made available in schools. Also 35 master trainers will be deployed for smart labs.
The DM further said that Learning Cluster Centers would be set up at the sub-divisional headquarters of Aurangabad and Daudnagar. Computer system, internet, smart board, video recording and CCTV will be provided in all these centres. They will be monitored by the school education committee as well as the block and district officers. Apart from this, arrangement of benches will also be made. Desks and other facilities in 55 other schools,” Jorwal said.
The DM said that the prize money would also be used to make the schools student friendly. He said that attractive paintings would be done on the walls in selected schools to attract the attention of the children.
“Books of the new syllabus will be made available in the libraries of selected secondary and higher secondary schools. This will benefit the children from economically weaker sections. The proposal sent by the district administration is pending for the approval of NITI Aayog. As per NITI Aayog’s own approves, the schemes will be implemented without delay,” he said.
