The recent episode of Bigg Boss OTT 2 grabbed attention due to the heated exchange between Babika Dhruve and contestants JD Hadid and Abhishek Malhan. Akash Chowdhary, witness to the debate, expressed his dismay at the ‘fake feminism’ prevalent in the reality show. He was dismayed to see the inconsistencies and double standards that came to the fore during the tussle.

Akash highlights the unfairness of pseudo-feminism, highlighting how women can make derogatory comments towards men without consequences, while men are labeled for any response. She criticized the double standards where men are accused of body-shaming and labeled as molesters, while women openly abuse and threaten violence. Akash emphasized that respect should be based on character, not gender or age.

She said, “I find the concept of pseudo-feminism or fake feminism in reality shows appalling. It is disheartening to see how women can freely make derogatory comments in the name of feminism. However, when men respond, They are immediately labeled.” Derogatory terms like ‘Kharab Parvarish’ (bad upbringing) and ‘na-mard’ (impotent). Women may use words like ‘janani’ (impotent) and ‘adha mard’ (half man) for men, but if men say anything in return, they are subjected to body shaming, slut shaming, or even that is accused of being labeled as a molester. Amazingly, a girl can abuse a guy and threaten physical violence, but if he retaliates, these women claim to feel insecure and behave as if they’ve never seen me before. Haven’t come across such behavior from men. I strongly condemn this double standard. Respect should be based on a person’s character, not their age or gender. Its as simple as that.”
