The stylish opener feels that coming into the straight XI after losing so many matches in the past months will not be right on his part but he also reiterated that he has no plans to retire from the shortest format.
“Since I didn’t take part in the last 15-16 T20s, it wouldn’t be fair to come suddenly and replace someone who played well in those games,” Tamim told United News of Bangladesh. .
Currently, he is the second highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in the format after Shakib Al Hasan. He has scored 1701 runs in 74 matches at an average of 24, including a ton and seven half-centuries. In fact he is the only player in his country to score a century in the format.
