President Joe Biden on Tuesday named Damien Williams as the US attorney for Manhattan, one of the nation’s most important prosecutor positions, the Justice Department said on Tuesday.
If Williams wins Senate confirmation, she will be the first black person to oversee the federal prosecutor’s office in New York City.
He currently heads a securities task force at the Prosecutor’s Office.
