Bharti Airtel receives highest number of consumer complaints – Times of India

New Delhi: Telecom regulator TRAI has received maximum number of complaints Bharti Airtel After Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio, Parliament was informed on Friday.
As per the data shared by Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chouhan, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has received 16,111 service-related complaints against Bharti Airtel in 2021, followed by Vodafone Idea with 14,487 and Reliance Jio 7,341 complaints.
Of the 14,487 complaints against Vodafone Idea, 9,186 were against Idea and 5,301 were against Vodafone.
The data showed that TRAI has received 732 complaints against MTNL and 2,913 against BSNL.
Chouhan said that the TRAI Act, 1997 does not envisage handling of individual consumer complaints by TRAI.
He said, “However, complaints received in TRAI are forwarded to the respective service providers for appropriate action. TRAI mandates all telecom service providers to set up a two-tier grievance/grievance redressal mechanism to deal with consumer complaints. Is.”
Under the Grievance Redressal Mechanism, a subscriber can lodge service related complaints at the grievance center of his Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).
Chouhan said that if the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily by the service provider at the complaint centre, an appeal can be filed with the appellate authority of the TSP.
