Bharat Jadhav remembers late actor Vijay Chavan in heartfelt post

Actor Bharat Jadhav has impressed the audience with his portrayal of every role. In his utterly successful journey, Bharat has been grateful to his parents, friends and co-stars. Apart from him, there is another person for whom Bharat is always grateful – late actor Vijay Chavan.

Vijay and Bharat have worked on projects like Mumbaicha Dabewala, Jatra: Hayalgarh Re Tyagagarh and Pachdalela. Vijay passed away on 24 August 2018 after a prolonged lung ailment. Bharat recently remembered his dearest friend through an Instagram post.

In the post, Bharat wrote that the first rehearsal of the play Moruchi Mawashi took place on May 1, 1963. The performance was held at Birla Matushree Hall. He said that Bapurao Mane played the role of an aunt in this play.

Bharat further wrote that after a few years it was decided that the late Laxmikant Berde would play the role of an aunt. Laxmikant suggested Vijay’s name for this role. According to Bharat, Vijay was bang on with his act as an aunt.

Bharat wrote that Vijay played that role, and added that even today when the play Moruchi Mawashi is performed, Vijay’s performance is remembered.

Fans also remembered Vijay’s acting in the comment section. He praised Bharata for paying respect to Vijay. Some called Vijay a legend of the Marathi industry.

Bharat is seen holding Vijay’s sketch in Aunty’s getup.

The play Moruchi Mavshi was written by Prahlad Keshav Atre. The inspiration behind this venture was the play Charlie’s Auntie, written by Brandon Thomas. The play tells the story of three college friends Moru (Prashant Damle), Bhaiya (Pradeep Patwardhan) and Bandya (Vijay Chavan).

Soon, Moru is informed that his aunt, the queen of the Kanda Sansthan, is visiting him. Moru and Bhaiya call their girlfriends for company. But then Auntie’s visit is canceled at the last minute. The play follows the journey of a play full of fun.
