‘#BeTheBetterGuy’ Road Safety Initiative: On-Ground Session with Noida RTO

Leading car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Limited has always been at the forefront of promoting road safety in India. As part of the company’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, Hyundai Motor India has sought to build a meaningful relationship with its customers and other stakeholders. This includes giving priority to ‘Road Safety’ by considering it as the main focus area.

For this edition of its #BeTheBetterGuy road safety initiative, Hyundai Motor India in partnership with Zee Media, recently shot an informative video with the Regional Transport Office at Gautam Buddh Nagar to spread awareness on the importance of following safety measures between the two Conducted on-ground sessions. According to the World Health Organization report, at least one out of every 10 people killed on the roads across the world is from India. According to data compiled by the Transport Research Wing of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, there were over 4.12 lakh road accidents in the country in 2021, in which over 1.53 lakh people lost their lives and over 3.84 lakh were injured. To convey the importance of being a safe driver on the road, the session was attended by senior officials of Noida RTO, who shared their insights on the importance of improving driving habits and following road safety rules. In this session the participants were also asked about various road signs, being aware of which is the key to become a better driver.

In the session, it was noted that the road infrastructure in the country has improved manifold and the government has introduced stricter rules related to road safety, though there is still a ways to go in implementing the same. In addition, most cars today also have advanced safety features. However, the truth of the matter is that most people either do not know the rules or do not follow the rules properly. Hence, #BeTheBetterGuy’s informative on-ground session tried to spread awareness about these rules.

With the #BeTheBetterGuy road-safety initiative, Hyundai Motor India aims to specifically target the millennial generation in the country and through them create a ‘chain-of-change’ on Indian roads.
