A few days ago, the Omicron variant was found in the nearby city of Tianjin.
Since Beijing reported one locally transmitted case on Saturday, the current Covid-19 outbreak in the capital city includes Haidian, Chaoyang, Fangshan and Fengtai districts as of Wednesday, state-run China Daily reported. .
The DCP has issued tracks of new cases and asked residents who have visited those places during this period to report them to local communities as soon as possible.
Liu said residents should not leave Beijing before receiving nucleic acid test results.
