Bangladesh beat New Zealand by four runs to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series in Dhaka on Friday. Opener Mohammad Naeem scored 39 runs and 59 for the first wicket with Liton Das (33) laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s 141 for six in 20 overs. Captain Mahmudullah Riyadh remained unbeaten on 37 runs till the end.

New Zealand captain Tom Latham smashed an unbeaten 67 but his blitz in the final overs made him 137 for just five wickets. Bangladesh won the first match by seven wickets on Wednesday. Opener Mohammad Naeem played an inning of 39 for Bangladesh’s 141 for six in the second Twenty20 International against New Zealand in Dhaka on Friday.

Naeem and Liton Das (33) put on a 59-run partnership for the first wicket after Bangladesh elected to bat first on a slow wicket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. New Zealand bounced back thanks to spinner Rachin Ravindra, who took two wickets in two balls before finishing with 3-22.
