Assembly elections: AAP to start campaigning in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat

New Delhi: After a thumping majority in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to field in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat where assembly elections will be held later this year.

News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will campaign in two election states along with Punjab’s nominated chief minister Bhagwant Mann.

ANI quoted sources as saying, “As far as Himachal is concerned, it borders Punjab, where AAP has just won the assembly elections. AAP expects Punjab wave as well. Will reach Himachal Pradesh.”

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain announced during a roadshow in Shimla on Saturday that AAP will contest the state elections in Himachal Pradesh. Giving a statement, Jain said that the common man is “fed of the BJP and the Congress” and his party wants to give a good alternative to the people.

He said that AAP will contest all the 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh.

“After Punjab, it is now Himachal Pradesh’s turn. We will contest all 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections,” Jain said during the rally.

He also said that AAP will contest the local body elections in Shimla next month to establish a strong foothold in the state.

Gujarat is another state where AAP sees a good opportunity for itself, especially after its success in the Surat municipal elections.

In the recently concluded Punjab Assembly elections, AAP registered a landslide victory by capturing 92 out of 117 constituencies in the state. The party is already in power in the national capital Delhi.
