Apple To Use LG-supplied OLED Displays For iPhone 14 Pro

Apple is reportedly starting to use LG Display as the supplier of OLED panels for the iPhone 14 Pro models alongside its current supplier, Samsung Display.

Earlier, Samsung Display had given OLED panels for the Pro model of the iPhone 14 launch. However, it looks like Apple has brought in another supplier for the premium model.

According to ETNews’ sources, LG Display started supplying the panels in late October.

According to an AppleInsider report, long-time Apple partner LG Display is thought to supply LPTO TFT-type OLED panels for the iPhone 14 Pro.

As claimed, LG Display was supposed to be part of the Pro model supply chain, but initial production delays hit the inclusion, but it has now got Apple’s approval.

This will be LG Display’s first run supplying LTPO OLEDs to Apple for its products. However, as per the report, the technology was first introduced in the iPhone 13 Pro.

For the past two years, Samsung Display has supplied its LTPO OLEDs to Apple for use in mobile devices.

With LG joining, Samsung Display will be providing fewer panels to Apple.

The report states that with the switch in suppliers, Samsung Display will now supply screens for all four iPhone 14 models and LG Display will continue to supply screens for two iPhone models.
