Amid famine in Kolkata, 6 lakh doses of Kovishield are coming to the state on Tuesday

The Kovidshield vaccine is coming to the state after Kolkata Puranigam declared a vaccine crisis. Recently, more than 6 lakh covershield vaccines are coming from the center to the state in two phases. The dose of three lakh tikkas has already arrived in the afternoon. This is expected to address the vaccine shortage.

Kolkata Puranagam informed that vaccination will be stopped indefinitely from Tuesday. Poornima said in a statement that all the Kovidshield immunization centers will remain closed indefinitely from Tuesday due to lack of adequate vaccination. Kolkata’s city administrator Firhad Hakim raised his voice against the vaccination crisis.

First 3 lakh 31 thousand 330 doses were sent. Along with this, it has been said to send another 3 lakh 80 thousand 640 doses to the center. As a result, a total of 6 lakh 2 thousand 160 doses are coming in the state recently. Vaccination is expected to resume in Kolkata once this dosage is removed.

Last Friday, Kolkata Puranagam stopped giving Kovishield supplements. Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim said the disaster was caused by insufficient supply of cove shields. Vaccination can be resumed as soon as the supply of CovShield increases. After this remark of the city administrator, 3 lakh 58 thousand 240 doses reached Calcutta. Kovishields were provided at PUR centers on last Monday. It was later closed on Tuesday.
