Akasa Air Commences Flights From Kolkata Airport, Now Connects All Metro Cities

Akasa Air, India’s newest airline has started operations from Kolkata airport, its 17th destination in all metro cities of the country. The inaugural flight left Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata at 17.55 for Guwahati. From 18 May 2023, Akasa Air will operate daily non-stop flights connecting Kolkata to Bengaluru and Guwahati. These new routes will also provide Akasa Air customers the option to travel seamlessly from Bengaluru to Guwahati via Kolkata without any change in aircraft.

Kolkata is Akasa Air’s second destination in the state of West Bengal after Bagdogra. Akasa Air’s network comprises 36 unique routes connecting 17 cities such as Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. Since its launch in August 2022, Akasaka Air has carried over 2 million revenue passengers and crossed the milestone of operating over 900 weekly flights.

Akasa Air, India’s newest airline has introduced several new in class products and services including all Boeing 737 Max aircraft fleet. AKASA had ordered 72 aircraft and 20 of them have already been delivered. AKASA has already introduced services such as Cafe AKASA, an in-flight catering service offering an assortment of healthy and delicious food including celebration menus, pets on flight and safety instruction cards in Braille for the visually impaired.
