A senior citizen had a panic attack on Wednesday in an Air India flight from Newark to Mumbai. He started telling the crew members to open the door, I have to go out. The passenger kept on shouting for about seven hours.

During this, he was abusing and thrice tried to strangle his wife sitting nearby. Somehow the crew members pacified him. At the same time, after landing, he has asked the company to honor the crew members who handled him.

sat quietly for the first three hours, then started shouting
Mr Tonsekar was traveling with his wife in business class on Air India flight AI-144 from Newark to Mumbai. The flight took off from Newark at 12:20 pm local time. Crew members told that he was sitting quietly for the first three hours of the flight. After this, he got into an argument with one of the crew members over some issue.

After some time he got a panic attack. After this he kept on crying for seven hours. He was abusing the crew members and asking them to open the door and let them out. During this, the crew members were continuously explaining to him and appealing to remain calm.

Passenger abused crew members
A passenger present in the flight told that the senior citizen must have traveled in Air India earlier also. Maybe that’s why an air hostess was asking him that when you traveled with us last time you were fine, what happened this time. Even after this, Mr Tonsekar was abusing the crew members and was shouting loudly. In these seven hours, Tonsekar tried to strangle his wife three times.

Said after landing – crew members get respect
After the flight landed in Mumbai, Mr. Tonsekar told that Dr. Venugopal and Dr. Patel present in the plane helped me. For this, the captain of the flight made an announcement and thanked him. The crew members took care of me for seven hours and did not divert the flight so that others could reach their destination on time. The company should honor the crew members for this work. So far no statement has come from Air India in this matter.
