BENGALURU: An Air India flight from Delhi with 164 passengers on board, suspected to have experienced a technical snag mid air but landed safely at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) early on Monday morning.
The airline confirmed that there was nothing alarming about the incident and the aircraft has been towed away for checks.
Sources with the Bengaluru Airport said that the Air India flight AI 504, a direct service from Delhi to Bengaluru, took off from Delhi Airport at 9.38pm on Sunday.
“The flight was carrying 164 passengers and heading to Bengaluru on a flight time of just over three hours. The pilots of the Airbus A320neo with the Air India fleet suspected a low hydraulic level somewhere mid-air but was believed to be nothing alarming,” said the sources.
The AI ​​flight touched down safely on the Bengaluru runway at 12.47am on Monday and all passengers were deplaned as per normal procedures and no emergency evacuation took place, sources added.
“Post a safe landing, the pilots suspected low hydraulic level in the AI ​​504 and the A320neo plane was towed away from runway to the bay for further inspections. There was absolutely nothing alarming about the flight and there was no mid-air jamming of equipment of any sort,” a senior Air India official confirmed.
