Abhishek has started holding meetings in BJP strongholds like North Bengal and Jungle Mahal.

In an internal meeting with party functionaries and district leaders, Abhishek said that large-scale violence was alleged during the 2018 panchayat elections and also that the opposition was not allowed to submit its nominations.

Sources inside the party said that he also said that the Panchayat elections 2023 will be different than 2018.

BJP got 18 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha and party people and experts say that BJP got so many seats because of the violence in 2018.

According to sources within the party, Abhishek said, “MLAs and MPs fight in a democratic way, the same will happen in the panchayat. No one should try to win unopposed. If someone did something like this he would harm the party which would not entertain. Because of 2018, we got less seats in 2019. This time we will not let this happen.

On the list of TMC candidates, sources said that Abhishek has made it clear that people with corrupt background will not get tickets and Mamata Banerjee Will take the final call.

Abhishek has instructed the workers to take the development works of the state government to the people and prepare the grassroots workers and supporters to write a letter to the central government for not releasing their share of money for the state.
