ATK Mohun Bagan lost 6–0 to Uzbekistan side FC Nassaf in the Inter-Zonal Play-off semi-final stage to crash out of the AFC Cup campaign.

ISL heavyweights, ATK Mohun Bagan’s AFC Cup campaign ended in a nightmare after beating mid-level Uzbekistan outfit FC Nassaf’s Hare and Maroon Brigade 6-0 in the Inter-Zonal Play-off semi-final here on Wednesday.

Mohun Bagan scored five goals in the first half, including a own goal from defender Pritam Kotal (4″ OG), followed by a hat-trick by Khuseyn Norchaev (18′, 21′, 31′). Oybek Bozorov (45+) 1′) scored in a breathless stroke, while Donyar Narzulaev (71st) added to Bagan’s misery.

Nassaf will face Hong Kong’s Le Mans in the inter-zonal play-off final ahead of the AFC Cup final.

It was an embarrassment for Mohun Bagan as Nasaf are currently fifth in the Uzbekistan Super League.

Antonio Habas’ team, who did not have much match practice, will open the Indian Super League (ISL) season 8 against Kerala Blasters at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa on November 19.

A 0-6 loss against Al Kuwait in the 2009 AFC Cup was Bagan’s worst loss ever. The Kuwaiti side became the champion.

Nassaf Jawe was the champion of the second tier continental inter-club competition when they defeated Dempo in 2011 with a 13–0 aggregate score and was the last to compete in the competition.
