Encounter between security forces, terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian.
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian’s Kashwa area on Thursday. In a tweet, Kashmir Zone Police said, “Encounter has started in Kashwa area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job.” Awaiting more information.
Earlier, terrorists fired upon a civilian in Chitragam Kalan area of Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.
The police have identified the citizen as Zameer Ahmed Bhat, a shopkeeper by profession and a resident of Dangarpora Chitragam Kalan. According to police, Bhat sustained bullet injuries in his leg and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be stable.
A statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir said, “Tonight at around 9:45 pm, Shopian Police received information about an incident of a terroristic crime in Chitragam Kalan area of Shopian, where terrorists opened fire on a civilian.
