A heart-wrenching accident has been caught on video camera in Pimpri Chinchwad, adjoining Pune. Here a drunk man drove his car backwards in back gear instead of forward. He went on blowing up all the stalls and carts that followed him. It was a matter of luck that at that time not much crowd was present behind, due to which no one was injured.
A woman suffered minor injuries and a vegetable seller was seriously injured after being hit by a car. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital. Apart from this, a Vadapav cart and some vehicles have also been damaged.
Entire incident caught on camera
The incident happened late on Wednesday night and its CCTV video has now surfaced. In the video, a speeding car comes into reverse and first hits a Vadapav stall. After this, it goes in the other direction, hitting the vegetable seller Shubham Bhandari standing nearby. After this incident, Subhash Waghmare, who was trying to escape from the spot, was caught by the local people and handed over to the police. Injured Shubham Bhandari has filed a case against Subhash Waghmare. Wakhad police is probing the matter.
After the accident, the local people took the injured vegetable seller to the hospital.
Accidentally put reverse gear in the car
According to Wakhd police, Subhash Waghmare was going home in his Maruti Suzuki Alto car under the influence of alcohol. At one place, he put reverse gear in the car and the car started running backwards instead of forward. The car also suffered heavy damage in this accident. Subhash has said in his clarification that by mistake he had got reverse gear, so this accident happened.
