Aadhar Card Update: Now You Can Easily Change Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Address on Aadhaar

UIDAI has introduced a new update on its official portal. This new update allows those who have moved to a new residential address can change the said address to their current address Aadhaar own identity. Through the self-service portal on the Aadhaar website, users can update these details among others.

These changes were announced on Aadhaar’s Twitter handle. In the tweet, Aadhaar announced that new Aadhaar enrollment and mandatory biometric update (MBU) will be provided free of cost. New Aadhaar registration is mandatory for children after they reach the age of five and then at the age of 15. Biometric update can now be done with or without demographic update. Demographic update is essentially all data related to user’s name, date of birth, gender, address, mobile number, email address and language.

Users also have the option to update their demographic data and it will come with a fee of Rs 50 for the said update. When it comes to biometric updates, the charges for the update will be Rs 100, whether with or without the demographic data changes as mentioned earlier.

All relevant documents required for these changes are given on the Aadhaar website. In case users face any problem, Aadhaar issued a notice on Twitter asking users to contact help@uidai.gov.in via email or call their toll-free helpline directory (1947). said.

Documents required to update Aadhaar online

For any update, be it biometric update or residential update, certain documents are required to make changes through the online portal. Users must have proof of name, date of birth, gender, address and optionally language.

1. Proof of Name: Users must have a Proof of Identity (POI). These may include passport, PAN card, ration/PDS photo card, voter ID, driving license or even government photo ID card/service photo identity card issued by PSUs.

2. Proof of Date of Birth: Certificate of Birth, SSLC Book/Certificate, PAN Card, Passport or Date of Birth issued by Group A Gazetted Officer on UIDAI standard certificate format for enrollment/update

3. Proof of Gender: OTP authentication through mobile or face authentication

4. Address Proof: For this, users will need a scanned copy of the Proof of Address (POA) documents which include Passport, Bank Statement/ Passbook, Post Office Account Statement/ Passbook, Ration Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Government Photo ID Card/ Service can. Photo ID issued by PSU, Electricity bill (not older than 3 months), Water bill (not older than 3 months).

5. Proof of Language: No documents will be required for this.
