Apart from your Aadhar card, no additional documents are required for the process. All you need to do is fill an application form for the update and do biometric authentication for the process.

In order to keep the user data of Aadhaar secure, UIDAI has done away with online mobile number updating in Aadhaar card. Now you can do this only by visiting the Aadhaar center.

You will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar center and fill up a form requesting you to update your Aadhaar database with the new mobile number. The request will be submitted with a fee of Rs.50. You will have to verify your identity through biometric verification. However, you can download the application form for change/update of your mobile number and save some of your time at the centre.

You will then be provided with a unique reference number which can be used to check the status of your request on the mAadhaar app or on the official website of UIDAI.

If your new mobile number is already fed into the Aadhaar database along with someone else’s data, you will get a screen pop up during tracking informing you of the same.

Once your request is processed, you can use your newly registered number to change various other details as and when required.
