The minor did not agree to the marriage proposal of a 42-year-old man. An attempt was made to kidnap her while returning from the circus with the family. He was even attacked with a sharp weapon. The allegation was made in the Pingalar Jorabandh area of West Midnapore. The injured minor is still being treated at the hospital. On the other hand, the youth accused of the incident has not been arrested yet, but the police have arrested many people.
The relatives of the minor have accused Mustafa Khan, a resident of nearby Khirai village, of being involved in the incident. He alleges that the man had proposed his daughter for marriage many times before. The youth has been torturing his daughter for the last five-six months. However, the minor did not agree to his proposal.
Family members say that their daughter is not yet 15 years old. Secondary examinations are to be given this year. Since the man was 42 years old, they in no way agreed to the marriage proposal. It is alleged that Mustafa Khan and his team blocked the road when the family returned from a circus on Wednesday. To stop this, Mustafa Khan and his gang attacked and beat up the minor and his family members. The hands and feet of the minor started hitting different parts of the body.
Later other locals went there but the miscreants fled from the spot. After the incident, the minor’s family lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday. Police said that the main accused Mustafa is being searched.
