8 year old boy fell from 5th floor while trying to catch kite, dies Surat News – Times of India

Surat: In the second tragic incident within 10 days this season, another minor died after falling from the terrace of the fifth floor while trying to catch a kite in Ichhapur area on Saturday.
Eight-year-old Rohit, son of a construction worker from Madhya Pradesh, was playing with his younger brother Kalu on the fifth floor of an under-construction building when he saw a kite stuck in a nearby pole. While trying to take out the kite, Rohit fell into the gap between the two parts of the building and was seriously injured. He died during treatment on Saturday.
On the other hand, Ichhapur police has started investigation by registering a case of accidental death. Police said Rohit’s father, Ramesh Damor, a native of Jambuwa in MP, is working in Swastik Heights, an under-construction building in Ichhapur where the incident took place on Friday evening.
Earlier on December 30, in Adajan, a six-year-old boy, Tanay Patel, lost his balance while flying a kite on the roof of his building and died after falling from the fifth floor.
