42 Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths in Puducherry. Puducherry News – Times of India

Puducherry: Puducherry 42 new cases of coronavirus were reported during the last 24 hours ended at 10 am on Monday, taking the total to 1,27,095.
The new cases identified at the end of the test of 3,022 samples were spread over Puducherry 30, Karaikal 10 and Mahe II.
Two more persons, aged 63 and 75, succumbed to the infection, taking the toll to 1,848.
Health director G Sriramulu said there were 639 active cases, of which 98 were in hospitals and the remaining 541 were in home isolation. He said 59 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the last 24 hours, while the total recoveries stood at 1,24,608.
The director said that the health department has so far tested 18.45 lakh samples and out of them 15.65 lakh have been found negative. The test positivity rate was 1.39 per cent while the mortality rate and recovery rate were 1.45 per cent and 98.04 per cent respectively.
The Director said that 10,53,018 doses of vaccine against the pandemic have been given so far and these include 7,06,567 first dose and 3,46,451 second dose.
