4 children drowned in Jharkhand river during Chhath festival

The relatives and relatives of the deceased are in shock.

The tragic accident happened around 11.30 am on Tuesday.

Four children, including three girls and a boy, died after drowning in a river during Chhath Puja festival in Jharkhand’s Giridih. Local people reached the spot as soon as the incident came to light. Police was also informed immediately. Police said that the family members and relatives of the deceased are in shock after the incident.

The tragic accident happened around 11.30 am on Tuesday. Reports say that on the occasion of Chhath, some women of Mangrodih village had gone to bathe in the river. He also had some children with him. While taking bath, three girls and one boy drowned in the river. The women did not realize that their children had drowned and went back home after taking a bath. However, after some time when people started searching for the children, there was a ruckus.

Some relatives and local people ran towards the river to see the children. The villagers pulled all the children out of the river and took them to the hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. This incident turned Chhath festival into mourning. After the incident, Mufassil police station also reached the spot. All the children were under 10 years of age.

One such incident happened in September in Latehar, Jharkhand where people died due to drowning in a pond during karma immersion. It is said that the festival of brother-sister love is being celebrated in the village.
