The Hyundai i20 is currently on sale in the Indian market in its third-gen variant. The model is also on sale internationally, but in a slightly bigger form and with different powertrain options. The premium hatchback was due for a facelift and was expected for a while now. And, Hyundai has surprised everyone as the brand has introduced the 2023 Hyundai i20 with updates on the exterior and interior. Of course, the most eye-catching is the new Lime Metallic paint scheme. Along with this, Lumen Gray and Meta Blue Pearl shades have also been added to the list.
2023 Hyundai i20: Design
The logo of the facelifted Hyundai i20 has also been repositioned on the bonnet, just like the new generation Verna. Also, the 17-inch rims have been restyled. Despite the busy design, they look sharp. Tweaks have also been done in the front bumper. It sports a more substantial modification with a bold diffuser.
2023 Hyundai i20: Powertrain
Under the bonnet, the i20 continues with the powerful 1.0L 3-pot petrol motor with forced induction. It produces 120 PS of peak power output as against 172 Nm. The motor will be mated to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and will be offered with the outgoing set of engine options – 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. The car will be produced in Türkiye for the European market.
2023 Hyundai i20: Interior
Talking about the interior, there is not much change in it. It will still get the slightly-revised 10.25-inch driver display along with the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The new addition comes in the form of ADAS, which is now a standard affair across the range with features like lane-keeping assist and forward collision warning.
2023 Hyundai i20: India launch
The Hyundai i20 facelift can be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year or early next year. However, there is no indication of the same from the manufacturer. Currently, the India-spec model comes with two powertrain options – 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo-petrol. Transmission options include 6-speed iMT, 5-speed MT and CVT and 7-speed DCT.
