2021 Emmy Awards: Ted Lasso, The Crown Win Big Again; View full list of winners

The 2021 Emmy Awards are taking place on the event deck of LA Live. The prestigious award show honors the biggest names of television and web. The Creative Emmys took place on 13 September, with a crew of projects honored for their contributions. On Monday, Daytime Emmys, actors, directors and TV shows were honored for their excellence. One of the biggest winners of the night was the Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso. Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character on th show about a happy-go-lucky American football coach hired to lead a British soccer team, won the Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series on Sunday night. It is the first acting career Emmy for Sudeikis and the third Emmy of the night for Ted Lasso.

Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein won Emmys in the Comedy categories for Best Supporting Actress and Actor, respectively. This makes Ted Lasso the winner of three of the four major acting categories.

Also, in the other major category, actor Josh O’Connor won an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for playing Prince Charles on The Crown. Actress Olivia Colman won an Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series on Sunday night for playing Queen Elizabeth II.

Tobias Menzies won the Best Supporting Actor award.

Other major award winners include Kate Winslet, who won Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Film for Mare of Easttown. Ewan McGregor won Best Actor in a Limited Series for Halston. I May Destroy You won Best Limited Series.
