Witnesses say the blast targeting a Taliban vehicle in the provincial city of Jalalabad is the second such deadly blast in the Islamic State stronghold in as many days.

The Taliban and IS are extremist enemies, and fought each other even before the Taliban took control of Afghanistan last month.

Witnesses say a border police vehicle now run by the Taliban was targeted in Sunday’s blast. Initial reports said five people were killed, including two civilians, including a child. The Taliban were not immediately available for comment about potential casualties among their ranks.
