Pandwani singer Usha is a folk artist of Chhattisgarh.
President Draupadi Murmu has started conferring Padma Awards on 106 people on Wednesday at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The President gave the first honor to architect Balkrishna Doshi. His daughter received the Padma Vibhushan award given to her father. After this, businessman Kumar Mangalam Birla was awarded the Padma Bhushan on 22 March for his contribution in the field of trade and industry. Kumar Mangalam has become the fourth person in the Birla family to receive the Padma award.
Pandwani singer Usha was awarded the Padma Shri. He bowed down to Prime Minister Narendra Modi before receiving the honour. After this, he accepted the honor by touching the feet of the President. Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many people including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister Bhupendra Singh Yadav are present in the programme.

- Businessman Kumar Mangalam Birla was conferred with the Padma Award on March 22 for his contribution in the field of trade and industry. Kumar Mangalam has become the fourth person in the Birla family to receive the Padma award. Earlier, his mother Rajshree Birla, grandfather Bansat Kumar and great-grandfather Ghanshyam Das Birla have also been honored with the Padma Award.
- Mulayam Singh Yadav died on 10 October 2022 after a long illness. On Republic Day, the government announced the Padma award to him. However, after the death of Mulayam Singh, his supporters raised the demand of giving India. Mulayam Singh became MLA for the first time in 1967 at the age of 28 from Jaswantnagar. On 5 December 1989, Mulayam became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the first time. Later he was the CM of the state for two more times.
- Dilip Mahalanabis was also honored with the Padma Award. He saved thousands of lives by promoting the use of ORS during the 1971 war. It was Dilip who discovered ORS. This saves the lives of 50 million people every year worldwide. Dr. Dilip was a Pediatrician. He died in Kolkata in October 2022.
- Sudha Murthy, wife of Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy, was awarded the Padma Bhushan. Sudha is currently serving as the Chairperson of Infosys Foundation. He has written many books in Kannada, Marathi and English languages. In 1996, he established a Public Charitable Trust. The trust has so far constructed more than 2300 houses in the flood affected areas. In 2006, the then President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam awarded him the Padma Shri for service work.
- Ustad Zakir Hussain was born on 9 March 1951 in Mumbai. He started playing tabla at a very young age. At the age of 11, Zakir did his first concert in America. In 1973, his first album ‘Living in the Material World’ was launched. Zakir is very famous all over the world for playing Tabla. He was invited by former US President Barack Obama to perform at the White House.
