Dimple Yadav has defeated BJP candidate Raghuraj Shakya in Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election. With this victory, SP’s hold on Mainpuri since 1996 remains intact. This is Dimple Yadav’s third Lok Sabha victory. The victory has also united the family. Dimple would have reached where father was transferred
Dimple Yadav’s family belonged to Kashipur in Uttarakhand. His father was in the army, so he studied sometimes in Pune and sometimes in the Army School in Bathinda. Once he studied while living in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This is because, wherever father Colonel RS Rawat was transferred, the daughter would have gone with him there. In the year 1995, he passed his intermediate from Army School, Lucknow.
Akhilesh had given his heart to the girl seen at friend’s house
The story is from 1996. Akhilesh had returned to Lucknow after completing his engineering studies from Mysore. Further, there was planning for post graduation in environmental science, but from where it would be right to do it, it could not be discussed. One day he reached a friend’s house in Lucknow Cantt to discuss these things. A very decent girl was seen there. Akhilesh’s eyes fixed. Asked the friend, “Who is there?” The friend told, “This is Dimple Singh Rawat. She is studying here in Lucknow.”
Akhilesh and Dimple had a little talk there and then became friends. Over time, this friendship turned into love.
Lalu Yadav wanted to marry his daughter to Akhilesh
When he returned from Australia after studying environmental science, the pressure of marriage started increasing on Akhilesh. Akhilesh was scared to tell his father about Dimple. He was looking for a third person who could put his point in front of Mulayam Singh. Then he remembered his grandmother. Told Dadi about Dimple. Grandma liked the girl. He told Mulayam the whole thing. Mulayam was a little confused because he had a relationship with Lalu Yadav’s daughter as well.
Mulayam Singh was here with his son’s decision. He refused the relationship from Lalu Yadav and got Akhilesh and Dimple married on 24 November 1999.

The whole family is political but Dimple is not interested in politics.
Mulayam Singh’s entire family is in politics. But Dimple Singh Rawat had no interest in politics. The main reason for this was that his father RC Singh Rawat was from the army background. No one used to talk about politics in his family located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. That’s why Dimple Yadav also had no interest in politics. But when she became the daughter-in-law of the biggest political family of the state, it was decided that she would enter politics.

Contested elections for the first time in 2009 and lost
Dimple Yadav contested elections for the first time in 2009 after 10 years of marriage. In fact, Akhilesh contested from Kannauj and Firozabad and won both the seats. When he left Firozabad, there was a by-election. SP fielded Dimple Yadav. This was the first time when Dimple Yadav came out of the house to campaign. The Congress candidate in front was Raj Babbar. Dimple Yadav lost her first election by 85,343 votes.
Dimple was elected unopposed when Akhilesh became CM
In 2012 Samajwadi Party won the assembly elections. Akhilesh Yadav became the CM of the state at the age of 38. His Kannauj seat fell vacant. This time Dimple Yadav was fielded from here. Congress, BJP and BSP did not field their candidates in front of him. Samyukta Samajwadi Dal’s Dashrath Singh and Shankhwar and Independent candidate Sanju Katiyar also withdrew their nominations.
In this way, Dimple Yadav became the first woman from UP who won the Lok Sabha elections as an independent.

In 2014, Dimple won amidst the huge Modi wave
In 2014, there was a massive Narendra Modi wave across the country. Dimple was again in the fray from Kannauj. BJP’s Subrata Pathak was in front. There was a tough fight between the two but the victory came in the hands of Dimple Yadav. Dimple got 4 lakh 89 thousand 164 votes. Subrata got 4 lakh 69 thousand 257 votes. In this way SP was able to win by 19,907 votes.
Subrata took revenge on Dimple in 2019
In 2019, the story of Kannauj changed. Dimple Yadav got more votes than before but Subrata got more than her. The result came, “Dimple Yadav lost by 12,353 votes.” In this way, Kannauj, which was considered to be a stronghold of SP, was now out of its hands.
Succeeded in saving father-in-law’s legacy in 2022

Mainpuri by-election was not just an election but a fight to save the legacy of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Shivpal Yadav was among the biggest contenders who emerged after his death. Dharmendra Yadav and Akshay Yadav also wanted to get a second chance on the seat from which he started politics. But Akhilesh fielded Dimple Yadav and the result is out today.
When the worker became the reason for Dimple’s trouble
Once Dimple Yadav reached Prayagraj to campaign. Party workers created ruckus in the rally. Dimple said, I am scared if you people shout. Akhilesh had then said in the media, “What happened if you scolded the brothers-in-law.”
Once she reached Kaushambi’s Sirathu seat to campaign. Even then the workers created ruckus in the same way. A large number of workers rushed to touch his feet at the Varanasi airport. There was an atmosphere of chaos.
