The fight for the rights of Delhi’s Kejriwal government is increasing. The Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog is going to be held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on Saturday i.e. 27th May. All the Chief Ministers have to attend this meeting. But three Chief Ministers including Kejriwal have boycotted this meeting. These are Arvind Kejriwal himself, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The matter is actually of the rights of the Delhi government. The Supreme Court had recently given many rights to the elected government of Delhi. It was said that in all matters except land and law and order, the LG (Lieutenant Governor) will have to act on the advice of the Delhi government. After this order, except the police, all other officers came under the control of the Delhi government.

This happiness of the Delhi government did not last long. A few days after the Supreme Court’s order, the central government overturned the court’s decision through an ordinance. Back all the powers were absorbed in LG as before.

Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi informing about the boycott of the NITI Aayog meeting. It has been said in this that it is not constitutional to reverse the decision of the Supreme Court. We were fighting for the rights of Delhi for eight years, and the central government took away all our rights in just eight days through an ordinance. In such a situation, there is no point in our coming to the NITI Aayog meeting. What kind of federalism where justice is not being respected?

Kejriwal has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that why do you want to paralyze the Delhi government.

However, Kejriwal has also started gathering support from all the opposition parties against this ordinance. They are seeking cooperation from the opposition parties that when this ordinance comes to be passed in the Parliament, do not support it, but oppose it so that the honor of the court is saved and we can get full rights from the constitutional point of view as an elected government. .

At present Chandrasekhar Rao from Telangana is seen in support of Kejriwal. However, he has also met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP leader Sharad Pawar to garner support in this matter. Everyone has promised them support, but what will happen during the voting on this ordinance in Parliament, cannot be said now. Even if all these parties support Kejriwal, will they be able to stop the ordinance from becoming a law, only future will tell.
