Troubled by the torture of the employer in Bengaluru, three migrant laborers reached their home Odisha on Sunday after walking 1000 kilometers without money and food. According to media reports, the three laborers Katar Manjhi, Budu Manjhi and Bhikari Manjhi had gone from Odisha to Bengaluru to work. There the company did not give him salary, when he went to ask, he was beaten up.
Started on foot from 26 March
All three were returning home while passing through Koraput in Odisha. Then some local people saw them and inquired about them. During this, he told that he started this walk from 26 March. A video of him has also surfaced, in which he is walking with luggage and a bottle of water in his hand.
The laborers told that they have been coming on foot since March 26, they did not even have money for food.
Group of 12 people went to Bangalore for job
These three laborers were from a group of 12 people who had gone to Bengaluru two months ago with the help of a Baluga man. After this he got a job in a company. But his employer refused to give him his wages. When the workers demanded, they were harassed and even beaten.
Couldn’t bear the torture so came back
The laborers said that they had gone to Bengaluru with the hope of earning money to support their families. But there the company employees refused to give us our salary. We could not tolerate their harassment, so we left from there.
However, seeing their plight, a shopkeeper on the way fed them food. At the same time, the president of Pottangi unit of Odisha Motorists Association gave him Rs 1500 and arranged for him to go home.
