This is happening for the first time in history, when women are going on Haj pilgrimage alone without Mahram i.e. without husband or any male. The number of women going on Haj pilgrimage alone has increased to 4000 across the country. 39 women are going on Haj pilgrimage from Delhi alone. He has thanked PM Modi for sending him on this journey.

A group of 39 women has left for the yatra from Delhi airport. Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi flagged off the batch. On this occasion, Meenakshi Lekhi said that women are becoming self-reliant during the tenure of the Modi government. This is the reason that today women have been able to go for Haj pilgrimage alone.

He said that positive feedbacks are being received regarding this journey of women. Saudi Airlines also said that for the first time the process of Haj pilgrimage is being done in such a good manner.

Meenakshi Lekhi said – Special arrangements were made in Saudi
Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi further said that women have also been given fitness training for Haj pilgrimage, so that they do not have any problem in walking. Apart from this, special arrangements have been made for his stay in Saudi. If someone’s health deteriorates during the journey, full attention will be given to the medical facilities for them.
