After the May 5 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the NIA has started raids on the cadres associated with terrorist organizations and the bases of Hybrid Overground Workers.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided 7 districts of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with terror funding and Pakistan’s terror conspiracy case. In this, searches were conducted at four places in Anantnag, three in Shopian, two each in Budgam, Srinagar and Poonch and one each in Baramulla and Rajouri districts.

The NIA itself had registered the case on June 21 last year regarding the terror conspiracy. The places where searches are being conducted on Tuesday are Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir(UL J&K), Mujahideen Ghazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers and There are cadres and hybrid overground workers affiliated with affiliates and branches of terrorist organizations such as the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAAF).

NIA’s preliminary investigation has revealed that these people were involved in the collection and distribution of bombs, IEDs, cash, narcotics and small arms at the behest of Pakistani commanders and handlers.

NIA also raided 6 places including Madurai, Trichy, Dindigul and Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The raids were conducted at the premises of banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI). According to the police, in this raid, the investigating agency has detained PFI’s Madurai President Mohammad Kaiser from Pazhani in Dindigul.

The NIA raid comes days after five army personnel were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on May 5.

Raids were done at 12 places in the year 2022
The NIA had conducted raids at 12 places in Jammu and Kashmir till late evening on May 2 last year in connection with a terror conspiracy case. Searches were conducted at eight locations in Pulwama district, one each in Kulgam, Anantnag and Budgam districts and one in Jammu.
