The jeep driver lost control over the steering due to tire burst.

Seven people died and 8 were injured in a road accident near Varahi in Gujarat’s Patan district today. The condition of three of the injured is said to be serious. The injured have been admitted to civil hospitals in Radhanpur and Patan. Police registered the case and sent the dead bodies for postmortem.

Deputy Superintendent of Police KK Pandya said that the jeep (GJ-08-A-9497) going at full speed lost control due to a tire burst and the jeep rammed into a stationary truck. More than half of the front of the jeep was buried under the truck. Due to this, 7 people died on the spot.

A case has also been registered against the truck driver for parking the truck on the middle of the road.

Truck driver was also at fault
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police KK Pandya, apart from the jeep driver, the fault of the truck driver has also come to the fore in the truck accident. Because the truck was standing half way down the road. Apart from this, there were no barricades around the truck or any marking for the truck to be parked. Due to this an FIR has been lodged against the jeep and truck drivers.
