केरल ट्रेन आगजनी केस के आरोपी शाहरुख पर लगा UAPA: SIT ने बताया- वो कट्टरपंथी था, जाकिर नाइक के वीडियो देखता था

Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act UAPA has been imposed on Shah Rukh, accused in Kerala’s Kozhikode train arson case. The SIT probing the case said on Monday that Section 16 of the UAPA has been added to the FIR against the accused.

SIT team head MR Ajit Kumar told that the accused Shahrukh is a fundamentalist person. Accused Shahrukh used to watch videos of Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. The accused, a resident of Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, had gone to Kerala to commit the pre-planned crime. He was arrested from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

Ajit told that we have gone to many states and investigated about the accused. On April 12, the team went to Kannur with Shahrukh, where many evidences have been found against him. After this the team decided to add UAPA section in the case filed against Shahrukh. Right now it is being investigated whether anyone else was involved in this crime along with Shahrukh.

A senior police officer told that Shahrukh is 27 years old. He has done 12th from National Open School. Shahrukh is currently in police custody, which ends on April 18.

3 people died in the incident
The incident took place on April 2, when Shah Rukh set a coach of the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express on fire by throwing inflammable material on the passengers. Three people including a girl died in the accident. According to media reports, they jumped from the train to escape the fire. 9 more people were also injured in this incident.

According to the police, Shahrukh had an argument with a passenger in the train. After this, the accused threw petrol on the passenger and set it on fire. This created panic among the people. The seats and luggage of the coach also caught fire and the entire coach was engulfed in flames. The incident took place in the D1 compartment of the Alappuzha-Kannur Express at around 9.30 pm on Sunday night. The train was passing through Elathur in Kozhikode at the time of the incident.
