Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, chief of Waris Punjab De, who was dodging the police for 36 days, was suddenly arrested from Moga on Sunday morning. His close ones are claiming that this is not an arrest, it is a surrender. After this, everyone is curious to know that what happened all of a sudden that Amritpal was forced to leave?

There are 2 characters behind this arrest. First- Papalpreet walking along like a Rajdar, who has already been arrested. After Papalpreet was arrested by the police, Amritpal stopped getting hiding places. The second reason is Amritpal’s wife Kirandeep Kaur, who was stopped from going to London three days ago. British citizen Kirandeep Kaur was returned to her in-laws’ house from Amritsar airport.

4 reasons that led to Amritpal’s arrest

1. Amritpal came from Dubai, does not have his own network
When Amritpal absconded on March 18 amid the operation of the Punjab Police, Papalpreet was with him. After this Amritpal was seen in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi even then Papalpreet was with him. The woman at whose house Amritpal stayed in Shahabad of Kurukshetra in Haryana was also known to Papalpreet.

Actually Amritpal was getting hiding places from Papalpreet’s network only. He used to arrange for the money spent during the absconding. Papalpreet was caught on April 10 from Kathunangal in Amritsar. After this Amritpal fell alone. Amritpal went to Dubai in the year 2012, stayed there for 10 years and returned to Punjab only in 2022, almost a quarter of a year ago, so he did not have a personal network here. The result was that as soon as Papalpreet was caught, he stopped finding places to hide.

Papalpreet Singh was sent to Dibrugarh jail in Assam after his arrest on 10 April. He is still locked up there.

2. The pressure increased when the wife was returned from the airport
Amritpal married UK-based NRI Kirandeep Kaur on 10 February. Amritpal did not even show the face of Kirandeep Kaur to anyone at that time. Kirandeep Kaur is a UK citizen and she left home 3 days ago, on 20th April, to go to London. When she reached Amritsar airport, the immigration officers stopped her there. The interrogation went on for about 3 hours.

After this, Kirandeep Kaur was not allowed to leave the country and the police returned her to Amritpal’s house i.e. in-laws Jallupur Kheda. This increased the pressure on Amritpal.

3. The one who gave shelter was caught by the police
The police also showed strictness to catch Amritpal. Whoever gave him a place to hide, helped him in the Ferrari or gave him a lift in the car, the police went on catching all of them one by one. Some of them were taken into custody and some were arrested after registering a case. Due to this new people started getting scared of helping Amritpal. Result- Amritpal kept getting lonely and he was forced to come out.

In Shahabad, Kurukshetra in Haryana, a woman gave shelter to Amritpal for the night. Who was arrested by the Punjab Police.

4. Did not get the support of Akal Takht and SGPC
Amritpal had the highest hopes from the Akal Takht, which is called the supreme body of the Sikhs, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), which is called the mini-parliament of the Sikhs. Amritpal released 2 videos and 1 audio after absconding. In this, a demand was made from the Akal Takht Jathedar to call the Sarbat Khalsa (Sikh Synod) at Talwandi Sabo on April 13-14 on Baisakhi.

However, the Jathedar denied it. At the same time, SGPC also never openly came in support of Amritpal. The result was that Amritpal was isolated.

Amritpal was finally forced to come in front of the police after being singled out from all sides.
