NEET 2023: Without any bias towards any subject, from my experience as educationists it would be wise to believe that Botany and Zoology should be given priority for preparation

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) It is one of the biggest exams in terms of number of candidates appearing for the paper, which fulfills the dreams of being a ‘Dr. tag with his name, settle decently in a career as a doctor, and contribute better to the society. While NEET fever is at its peak, the mantra to fight those jitters is probably to stay calm and focus on what you have studied throughout the academic session. The exam will be held on May 7 this year.

N c E r T: It goes without saying that NCERT plays an important role in NEET 2023 preparation. This is true not only for botany and zoology sections but also for physics and chemistry. It would be advisable to have a preparation strategy in which we extend to other resources for clarification, practice problems and clear understanding of concepts but then return to NCERT. Facts and figures in NCERT have always been a favorite area for examiners.

Botany and Zoology: Without any bias for any subject, with my experience as educationists it would be wise to believe that Botany and Zoology should be given priority for preparation. While a student attempts these at a fast pace, he makes time for Chemistry and Physics. This strategy provides a competitive edge to the child.

Mistakes to Avoid: A mistake notebook can be a very effective tool in avoiding repetition of mistakes and losing points for the same type of mistakes over and over again. In this notebook, the student mentions his favorite mistakes and refers to them every time before appearing for the exam. The magic it creates will astound the student.

Practice Papers: Mastery can only be achieved through a cycle of testing and re-testing. An organized test series always helps to move ahead with better confidence. Practicing NEET sample papers and previous years’ papers should be taken very seriously. Since the National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken upon itself the responsibility of conducting NEET, it follows a very systematic approach towards it. As already underlined, NCERT is the ‘Bible’ for exam preparation, questions are seen to be repeated with or without minor changes in language. They should not be neglected.

strategy: The students have to take a new and more clear resolution on their part. Restructuring daily schedules, minimizing distractions, and efficient management of time and resources are helpful. Students studying late into the night and sleeping much less than enough hours doesn’t help.

Self-confidence and self-belief are the major factors affecting success. The role of self-discipline, adherence to a healthy dietary regime, conscious rest and relaxation provide the necessary support to counter mental activity and body fatigue that can sometimes lead to anxiety. Certain physical exercises, yoga and special relaxation techniques are helpful. It would not be an exaggeration to conclude that having the right strategy makes ‘NEET’ preparation more ‘NEAT’.
