In the Umesh Pal murder case, Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were sent to police remand for 4 days by the CJM court on Thursday. Police asked for remand saying that Atiq has connection with Pakistan. He used to buy weapons dropped from drones on the border. He has a stockpile of weapons. He also has links with ISI and Lashkar. Atiq can get that weapon recovered during remand.

After the order of the court, the police brought Atiq-Ashraf to the police line of Prayagraj. From here they have been brought to Dhumanganj police station. Police will inquire till 5 pm on 17th April. The police had asked for 14-day remand of both. Earlier, the court had sent both the brothers to judicial custody for 14 days.
