“This problem could be exploited in a more sophisticated attack to trick an unknown user’s client into connecting to a malicious server when attempting to access Zoom services,” Zoom said in a blog post.
Zoom became aware of the issue through bug hunter Evan Fratik of Google’s Project Zero group. Frantic had informed Zoom about the security flaw in February this year, after which the bug was fixed through an update.
Therefore, if you are using the Zoom client with a version earlier than 5.10.0, the company is asking you to update the software immediately. It is also warning people from clicking on any links from unknown sources that may be carrying malware.
