Zimbabwe will be aiming to start the Super Six stage of the World Cup qualifiers on a high note when they take on Oman today. The Super Six match between Zimbabwe and Oman will be played at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo. Hosts Zimbabwe qualified for the next round by remaining unbeaten in the group stage. The African team claimed the top spot in the Group A standings. Oman, on the other hand, won two of their four games in the group stage. They finished third in Group B to reach the Super Sixes.
Oman made a great start to the World Cup qualifiers by winning their first two games. The Oman cricket team will now enter the contest after losing their last two matches in the group stage. In their last match, Oman suffered a 76-run defeat at the hands of the Scottish cricket team.
Six teams entered this round with points earned from group matches against the other top-three finishers. This means both Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will enter the Super Six stage with four points each. Meanwhile, Scotland and the Netherlands have two points each from the Super Six stage. Things are not looking particularly good for the West Indies and Oman as they are 0-0 in the Super Sixes.
