Yuvika Chaudhary arrested under SC/ST Act for abusing casteist; out on interim bail

Actress and Bigg Boss 9 contestant Yuvika Chaudhary has been arrested by Haryana Police for making objectionable remarks against a community in her video.

Actress Yuvika Chaudhary has been arrested under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (SC/ST Act) for making objectionable remarks against Scheduled Castes. The actress was arrested by the Haryana Police on Monday and is out on interim bail. His legal representative Ashok Bishnoi issued a statement about his arrest to news agency ANI. Pictures from outside the police station of the actress have surfaced on social media.

According to ANI, Bishnoi said, “My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and he is presently on interim bail (in the case of alleged objectionable remarks against Scheduled Castes on social media platforms).”

Yuvika was booked by Haryana Police in May after Dalit rights activist Rajat Kalsan filed a complaint against her alleging that she made some derogatory and objectionable remarks about the Scheduled Caste community in the video.

Yuvika had allegedly made derogatory remarks towards the community in a YouTube vlog, which she removed following public backlash. She then claimed on Twitter that she did not know that the word she was using was a casteist slur. He has also shared an apology video on Instagram. Her husband, actor Prince Narula, who was shooting the video, also made videos defending the actress.
