But in the case of Zykov-D, the vaccine will be given through a special device. The name of that device is ‘Pharmajet’. Without GST, ‘Pharmajet’ would cost Rs 93 per dose. According to the company, the price has been fixed in consultation with the Centre. The Center is currently buying Covishield for Rs 205. The cost of Covacin is Rs 215 per dose.
Thus, on 20 August, the Central Regulatory Authority approved Zykov-D for emergency application of 12 and above. According to experts, the vaccine can also be given to children aged 12 to 16 years or above 18 years of age. However, the Center did not specify who would be given the dose of Zycov-D with one crore doses. Gujarat-based company Jaydas Cadilao has also shut its mouth on this issue. But Sharbil Patel, the agency’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the government’s vaccination program through Zycov-D.
