From Yogi Adityanath in the 2022 assembly elections to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s stellar performance in Punjab to become the first BJP chief minister to retain the position for the second time in a row – this time a huge jump from 20 to 92 seats.
Some of the AAP candidates, who were not taken seriously, won this year by beating stalwarts like Navjot Singh Sidhu, Amarinder Singh and Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
This is also the first time that Uttar Pradesh has a government coming back to power with a majority in more than three decades. The BJP created history on Thursday as it won Uttar Pradesh despite farmers’ protests, power and the Covid-19 wave considered major hiccups for the party.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) showed the confidence of men wearing yellow turban and women in yellow dupatta as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) played a record innings winning 92 seats out of total 117, a historic achievement. Six Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) candidates have turned big killers in Punjab, driving home the big wheels of Punjab politics, including four former chief ministers. From Bhadaur, AAP candidate Labh Singh Ugoke, owner of mobile phone repair shop, defeated Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. 50 year old Jeevan Jyot Kaur managed to defeat Navjot Singh Sidhu and Bikram Majithia from Amritsar (East). Former Patiala Mayor Ajit Pal Singh Kohli, who switched over to AAP from Akali Dal, defeated Amarinder Singh from Patiala seat. CM Channi lost his name Chamkaur Sahib to AAP’s Charanjit Singh, a doctor. Jagdeep Kamboj ‘Goldy’ of AAP ended the rule of former Deputy CM and Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal from Jalalabad. read more
BJP government will be re-elected for the first time in 3 decades in UP
