Wrestler Protest: Won’t participate in Asian games if issues not resolved: Sakshee Malikkh

New Delhi: Sakshi Malik, one of the prominent wrestlers protesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, on Saturday said they will participate in the Asian Games only after their issues are resolved.

Talking to media persons in Sonipat, he said that we are not able to understand what they are going through mentally every day.

“We will participate in the Asian Games only when all these issues are resolved,” he said. You can’t understand what we are going through mentally every day,” said Sakshi Malik.

The Center on Wednesday assured the protesting wrestlers that the police probe would be completed by June 15 and asked them not to protest till then.

Amid the ongoing demand to arrest Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia met Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur at his residence.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, athlete Bajrang Punia said, ‘We discussed some issues. The police investigation should be completed by June 15 and the minister has requested us not to protest till then.

The wrestler said he has asked the Union minister to withdraw all FIRs lodged against wrestlers protesting against WFI chief and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan.
