Chasing 139, UP Warriors rode on skipper Alyssa Healy’s blistering 42-ball 96 not out to help her side seal an emphatic win to condemn RCB to four losses in four matches.

UP Warriors thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore in their 10-wicket victory over the Karnataka team at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.

Smriti Mandhana’s RCB won the toss and decided to bat first against the UP team. But, the Bangalore-based unit were bundled out for a total of 138 runs in 19.3 overs as Englishwoman Sophie Ecclestone scalped 4 wickets for UP Warriors.

Mandhana was dismissed cheaply for just 4 runs by Rajeshwari Gaikwad before New Zealand player Sophie Devine and Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry shared a 44-run partnership.

Devine’s innings of 36 off 24 balls was supported by Perry’s half-century, 62 off only 39 balls. However, Ecclestone removed Devine from the crease before Perry was dismissed by Deepti Sharma.

Shreyanka Patil (15) and Erin Burns (12) were the other RCB players to score in double figures before falling victim to Ecclestone and Sharma respectively.

Deepti Sharma was also responsible for the dismissal of Kanika Ahuja as she ended the evening with figures of 3-26.

Ecclestone wrapped up the innings as she dismissed Renuka Thakur and Sahana Pawar to end the game with incredible figures of 4-13.

Chasing 139, UP Warriors rode on captain Alyssa Healy’s blistering 42-ball 96 not out to guide her team to an emphatic win to condemn RCB to four losses in four matches.

Devika Vaidya supported her captain very well by scoring an unbeaten 36 off 31 balls.

Healy hit 18 fours and a big six that day to give the Lucknow team their second win in three matches.

UP Warriors were hardly troubled by the RCB bowling unit which failed to break down the defense of their opposition openers.

Healy’s girls consolidated the third spot in the league table with these as they have four points to their name and are only behind second-placed Delhi Capitals on net run rate.

RCB are yet to open their account in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Franchise Cricket League, while world champions and household names are present in their ranks.
